Many houses in our region has a light brown house with a surface made of dark brown that looks great until you see the main entrance is painted bright red! I wonder whether there is a superstition I have not heard.

The main entrance is not mixed with house colors and trim. It is traditional for people to paint the door in a different color. The door will draw attention to himself, not only if you know where to go, but allows non-verbal owners. Red happens to be the color of the moment. It can be any color.
(I've seen houses with the door in the mix, and it is annoying.)
